Brand The Change is a learner-funded, independent educational organization built by practitioners. We leverage the power of ‘brand’ for the social and environmental change the world so desperately needs.
WHY WE EXIST
In a perfect world, solutions for the climate crisis and social justice would be embraced purely on their merit. But this isn’t a perfect world. We have to be smart about how we help people embrace change. ‘Brand’ is a proven, powerful mechanism to build close, long-term relationships with people.
It is also notoriously complex and overwhelming.
But we believe brand thinking can be taught.
We democratize brand knowledge, so it can be used to address the greatest challenges of our time: climate change and social justice.
OUR PHILOSOPHY
We believe strong brands for change start with the people who build them. We surround brand-builders with the skills training, tools and network they need to effectively engage people with products and services for change. All our content is created by and for practitioners.

Brand The change in 100 words
Brand The Change was founded in 2014 in Nairobi, the world capital of social innovation, by brand developer Anne Miltenburg.
We are best known for our guidebook, Brand The Change, and the Brand Thinking Canvas.
Our work attracts worldwide interest and opens eyes to the potential of ‘brand’ to engage people with ideas, products and services for change.
Through our own channels and partners like PhilanthropyU and +Acumen we train thousands of changemakers each year.
We did not get here overnight. Like many good stories, ours starts with a woman who quit a high-profile job to pursue a crazy idea.
