big changes at brand the change

I've got some big news to share... This June, we’re switching our entire educational model to a membership.

why switch to a membership model?

We’ve always known that strong brands for change start with the people who will build them. That’s why we started an education company - not an agency.

But our learning experiences were mostly captured in time-limited packages: courses, workshops, and programs. We were always realistic about what we can teach in half a day, two days, or a few weeks. And we were seeing big changes with even a little exposure to our brand thinking training. And yet…

The change we need in the world is so overwhelming. The craft of brand building is so vast.
At the start of 2022 with an ever-growing sense of urgency about the state of the world, I asked myself,

How can we truly move the dial?

Should we pump more people through this learning pipeline?

Should we churn out more content?

I went back to the question that started it all: how might a fair trade lemonade brand rival a conventional brand like Coca-Cola?
After eight years I knew the answer: a skilled brand builder for change on the team.

What does it take to be a great brand builder for change?

We need to be masters at the craft of brand building. We need to have knowledge of change-making. We need the leadership skills to make things happen. And we need a network of collaborators to turn to, and inspiring examples to inform our work. That’s a lot. Not something you pick up in a 2-day course. It’s a career journey.

When we looked at our work through our lens, we saw that the biggest difference was being made by people who came for a course and stayed for the community.

Brand builders who were keen to grow and explore this complex world of brands for change together. People with complementary knowledge who can each be a source of expertise and a set of fresh eyes for each other.

We had stumbled upon the concept of community by accident in 2015, when we opened a Facebook group for users on our first toolkit. ‘Tribe’ quickly grew into one of the three pillars of our work, besides our tools and training.

By now focussing our entire learning model on one simple membership, we’re able to go much further, and deeper, together.

What's in the new membership?

The Brand The Change community membership will give you access to our:

  • Online on-demand courses

  • Brand Thinking tools

  • Fully illustrated case studies

  • Live learning events

  • Community forum: post a question, debate current events, share inspiration, get regular deep-dive posts on a branding topic by Anne

We are building our new learning calendar around our skills map of the 'Brand Builder for Change', which will guide our guest speaker line-up, a new set of posts, and micro-workshops.

But more than a menu of items, the membership is a pair of fresh eyes on a tough challenge, a think tank to generate new ideas for your brand, a trusted network of collaborators and a place to keep ahead of trends.

How will the new membership affect me?

The new membership package will go live by the end of June.

  • Members on paid subscriptions will automatically get all the new goodies added to their package without any new charges.

  • Members on a free plan will be offered a new plan for purchase.

  • Alumni and members of a single course plan will receive a special offer.

If you are a member, expect an email from us with details on how you can make the switch in the next two weeks.

Your existing profile, posts, and other saved information will be there for you when you sign up or sign in with the same email address.

I’m excited to make this step with all of you - I know this will make us so much stronger together.

Cheers,

Anne

PS: If at any time during the transition phase you are having trouble accessing the new plan, or if you get locked out, please reach out to hello@brandthechange.org with a short description of your issue and we will get it sorted.
