We've heard a lot about the Metaverse this year. We don’t know too much about it yet - besides that it is a powerful, immersive experience that is likely to change the web (and our lives?) as we know it.
There are plenty of predictions and first examples out there of how conventional brands can make use of the metaverse. New ways of hanging out with friends. Pizza orders at a domino’s stand in your digital neighborhood. Digital designer sneakers for your avatar. It all feels a little superficial.
Can the metaverse be something deeper and more meaningful?
We're in the grips of economic turmoil, political upheaval, and a climate crisis. It can seem like the last thing we need right now is more people escaping the natural, physical world.
Or can the digital world actually bring the natural world closer to our lives?
We're exploring this topic with Gautam Shah, founder of Internet of Elephants, and Abhilash Krishnan, IoE’s growth marketer and BTC member.
Internet of Elephants is a one-of-a-kind game company, 100% dedicated to building games and digital experiences to strengthen people’s relationships with wildlife.
Gautam recently gave a talk about wildlife and the metaverse on the global TED stage, which will be released in two weeks.
Abhilash Krishnan has been closely following developments in web 3.0, the metaverse, digital currencies, and NFTs. He is a great guide to the future of digital marketing.
They are the perfect people to talk to about the potential of the metaverse for environmental change.
We’ll touch upon:
What the metaverse is or could be
How they envision the metaverse could benefit the environment, wildlife and biodiversity
How they are moving into this new space
If conservation and environmental organizations are ready for this new reality
How you can start thinking about the metaverse as a tool to create change
I hope you can all make it for this one-of-a-kind chat!
