Last year, Brand The Change teamed up with MESH to ensure the Kenyan social network was as welcoming to female entrepreneurs as it is to men.

MESH boasts a community of 155,000 entrepreneurs from the informal sector. Its user base heavily favoured males at the end of 2022, despite the informal economy's equal split between men and women.

The MESH team was determined to change things up.

Thanks to the gender program, in just 9 months, MESH boosted its female user base from 30% to a balanced 50%, without major product changes.
