This month we have not one but two fireside chats. The first is with a very special guest, Marc Van Der Heijde. Marc was my team leader when I started out as a designer at Studio Dumbar in 2005. He lead projects for corporate clients, government projects and the cultural sector - but we could all tell he had a very special passion for two clients: the Dutch Chamber Choir and Amsterdam Symfonietta. 

So it wasn’t a surprise that in 2011, Marc became independent, and focused his practice entirely on a very specific niche: classical musicians. 

What was a surprise is what an amazing success he has made it. Not because of his talents, that goes without saying. But the classical music scene is not exactly known for its embrace of branding or modern marketing methods.
