If you want your product or service to create real change in the world, you need customers (…users/donors), and a way to understand their thinking. When you’re starting out, you’re often just guessing who these people are.

How do you find out who your ideal customer [user/donor/client] is, and what matters to them? Who do you compete with for their time, attention, or money?

Audience research is the only way that you can go from guessing to knowing. But the field of audience research is pretty vast, it can feel really overwhelming - and, dare we say it, a little boring?

What if you would think of yourself instead as an ‘audience detective’?

We’re thrilled to have George Beverly as a guest on our November open community hangout. George IS The Audience Detective. George has dedicated his career to understanding customers better. His book and podcast, out this year, take a practical look at the world of research, so we might understand it better, have fun with it, and actually build better relationships with the people we say we want to serve. 

Join us for an open think tank with George on all things customer research. We’ll start with a short Q&A lead by Anne, after which we will bring in two cases from the BTC community: a beverage that packs a punch and a high-end consultancy service. Afterwards, we will have time for an open Q&A, so bring your questions. 

To get the most out of our time with George, we recommend everyone to come prepared to this session. Read George’s book, listen to an episode of the podcast, and bring your questions!
