Join us to learn how we can be more effective in changing mindsets and behavior, by incorporating the science of behavior change into our work.
Many of the big changes that we so urgently need rely on people to change their behavior. We need people to reduce their footprint, eat healthier, vote, etc. And changing behavior and habits is notoriously difficult.
We think that if we just inform people, they will change their ways. If we cheer them on, they will feel encouraged. Think about it from your own perspective: you know smoking is harmful, yet you keep doing it. You know that you can recycle, yet you keep forgetting to do it.
More and more social enterprises, NGOs, companies, and movements are venturing into behavioral change territory. Yet we’re often unaware that we don’t have to invent the wheel. Behavior change is a science and expertise, with a body of knowledge and best practices that we can all build on.
Learning more about the science of behavior change has long been at the top of my list. It could make my work so much more effective. But it’s a vast and complex space.
That’s why I’m so excited to speak to Brooke Tully in this month’s open community hangout.
Brooke trains professionals in the environmental sector in applying behavioral science in marketing and communication strategies.
Brooke will guide us through the behavioral science space, and we’ll get a chance to ask her some burning questions:
What do people get wrong about communication for behavior change?
What are some scientifically proven practices that we can incorporate into our brand, marketing, and comms work?
What are examples of brands that get it right?
Join in with your own questions, or bring an example from your work and we can brainstorm together.

ABOUT THIS EVENT
This hangout is part of our series of free monthly community hangouts, open to all. Each month, we'll feature a new theme: a think tank, debate, skill share, hot seat session, brand jam or fireside chat. You'll meet Anne, Wanjiru and the other community members, and we make sure you leave with at least one great connection, new skills or a bit of knowledge or get an answer to a question you've been spinning your wheels on. Karibu, welcome!
